Powers of Attorney


POWERS OF ATTORNEY – EXPLANATORY NOTES

1. General

This power of attorney gives your attorney or attorneys power to do whatever you can do providing they are at full legal capacity.

2. Limited Power

This power is attorney is specific to a particular purpose. For example, it gives your attorney the power to represent you in a purchase or sale.

3. Enduring Power of Attorney

This power of attorney is the same as a general power of attorney, however it continues even though you may not have full mental, intellectual or legal capacity.

i. Enduring Power of Attorney (Medical Treatment)

  • An Enduring Power of Attorney (Medical Treatment) can be given to your husband/wife and giving him/her the power to consent to medical treatment should you be incapable of making decisions.

ii. Enduring Power of Attorney (Financial)

  • An Enduring Power of Attorney (Financial) can be given to your husband/wife and giving him/her the power to consent to decisions affecting your financial status should you be incapable of making those decisions.
